A FORESIGHT OF KOREAN FAMILY IN THE FUTURE: A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE DIGITAL GENERATION (DG) AND THE ANALOG GENERATION (AG)

This study outlined the Korean family of digital generation in eight aspects: family size & style, power in family, family support function, family adaptability, husband-wife relationships, parent-child relationships, style of family communication, and family pliability. For this study, I used questionnaire and interview. The data from 405 subjects (361, DG : 104 , AG) were analyzed by frequency, percentage, content- analysis , and x-test. The results of this study showed that: First, Korean digital generation wants the productive nuclear family. So the productive nuclear family will increase in the future. Second, Korean digital generation wants to share power in family. So members of family in the future will share power. Third, family support function will be unstable in the future. Fourth, family adaptability of the digital generation will improve. Fifth, husband & wife relationships in Korea will be more horizontal. Sixth, parent & child relationships in Korea will be more horizontal. Seventh, face to face communication in Korean family will be more emphasized. Eighth, family pliability of the digital generation will increase.
