THE PROCESS OF CHANGES IN THE BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS AND THE APPLICATION OF PSYCHOLOGICAL METHOD FOR THE SEVERE BEHAVIORAL DISORDER

The severe behavioral disorder means to show deviated and disruptive behaviors, among the people with autism and mental retardation. These behaviors are frequently occurred and those frequencies are hardly conceivable. Because of such characteristics, they have the difficulty in everyday life and the families and staffs of the schools or institutions also face to the severe difficulty in the treatment for them. It is said that most cases of such a severe behavioral disorder turn up after entering in the adult period. But there are various conditions and levels among them according to individual background. That is, there is no concrete method for them to decrease these difficulties. The factors of behavioral disorder are divided into 2 groups. One is the behavioral tendency of one's characteristics, and the other is the effects of their environment. Therefore, those children with developmental disorder, who have the tendency to have behavioral problems, would become to the severe behavioral disorders by the effects of their environment through the process of entering adulthood. This study has investigated the process in behavioral changes for the people with behavioral disorder. Subjects (n=50) were at the age between the childhood and adulthood. As a result, the various difficulties were found, but especially in the communication and the interaction to others. And the effectiveness was found to these difficulties, by using the individual therapy (Dousa-hou), which takes the importance on communication, mediated by their own body.
