RESEARCH ON CONCEPT OF CRITERION OF MENTAL HEALTH AND NEEDS OF SERVICE OF MENTAL HEALTH FOR PEOPLE IN DIFFERENT SOCIAL STRATA

The open / restricted questionnaire methods was used to investigate the concept on criterion of mental health and the needs of service of mental health for people in different social strata. The results indicated that: 1) there were significant difference on concept of standard of mental health between different social strata and ages, F(5, 477)=21.999, p=0.000 and F(3, 479)=3.849, p=0.010; but there was no significant difference between sex, F(2, 480)=1.80, p=0.166. 2) The most representative characters possessed by people with mental health are "optimism, ardor, pure- heartedness" (29.6%) and "quiet in mind and peace in disposition, be happy to render helps to other" (15.3%). 3) The most representative characters possessed by people who are in bad mentally health are "unsociable, uncommunicative and eccentric disposition" (21.7%) and "pessimism, despair of life" (16.8%). 4) Although most people thought that the most important works for psychologists to do at present are "propagandizing knowledge of mental health, offering service of mental health" (23.4%), Few people could face their own mental needs, only 3.9% subjects are willing to close with service / consultation of mental health". Some suggests to work for mental health of people in different Social Strata were developed according to above results.
