A RESEARCH ON THE TEMPERAMENT OF CHINESE CHILDREN AGE 3 TO 9

The study on temperament of child is becoming more and more important and it is very necessary to improve the quality of children's education. Based on the 270 open questionnaires, we developed children's temperament questionnaires and measure 774 children. We use the confirmatory factorial analysis to test and verify the structure of children's temperament and the reliability and the validity. According to the modification of AMOS, the results showed that (1)children's temperament questionnaire had high reliability and validity and the structure of children's temperament consisted of five factors such as, emotionality , Activity, reactivity, social inhibition and persistence.(2) There is significant age difference on the temperament of children, and different factor has different period of changing.(3) There is significant sex difference on the temperament of children, and different sex has different predominance factor.(4) Actually, The temperament of Chinese children has five types. Finally, a comprehensive overview of the main factors found and the changes in factors from three to nine years Chinese children were discussed.
