This paper presents part of the results of a research project we have been conducting with Brazilian female business executives. In the present study, twenty five manager women, aged 25 to 45, participated in individual in-depth interviews and the resulting discourse was analyzed. The interviews focused on different aspects of both their career and family lives. The results concerning the strategies developed by these women to conciliate career and family and to fit in with a organizational culture that used to exclude women from leadership positions will be discussed.
