Efforts to identify learning disabled children emphasizes awareness among parents and teachers about learning disability. An objective measure of knowledge about learning disability can permit the more accurate assessment of such awareness programs. This present study describes the construction of a standardized 60-item test of knowledge and attitude of learning disability and presents data on the validity, reliability and psychometric characteristics of the measure. Knowledge scores may serve as a useful measure to design awareness program and attitude scores will help us to understand the level of misconception. The paper also gives a brief outline of the awareness program for parents and teachers. The increased awareness will help in early identification of learning disabled children, parental involvement and better remediation.
