THE EVALUATION OF GROUP ANALYTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY

The purpose of the present study, was to compare the results between the initial psychological assessment and the re-assessment of a sample of patients who have undergone group analytic treatment in the Open Psychotherapy Centre, which is a day care Centre. Each patient was assessed during the initial diagnostic period, before participating in a group analytic treatment and after completion of therapy in a group analytic group. The study focuses on the clinical profile of the MMPI and quantitative parameters of the Rorschach test. The results indicated a significant decrease of anxiety and desphoric emotions, improvement of social adaptation, functional defence mechanisms and strengthening of the ego.
