THE STUDY OF PATTERN OF RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN CONTEMPORARY BEHAVIORS OF THAI PEOPLE AND SOCIALIZATION PROCESS OF THAI FAMILIES IN RELATION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COUNTRY

The purposes of this study were 1, to study parenting styles of families in contemporary Thai society in different regions of Thailand. 2, to study relationships between parenting styles and Thai people's behaviors, 3, to synthesize patterns of parenting styles that lead to the development of the country. Participants were 2,535 students in Mathyomsuksa one and six from five different regions: Bangkok Metropolis; central; Northern, Southern ; Northeastern regions. Only 1,316 subjects were recruited and arranged into 4 Baumrind parenting styles ; authoritative; authoritarian;permissive;and uninvolved. Data were collected by 7 instruments developed by the research team members and 6 senior psychologists. Then data were analyzed by the two-way ANOVA and the post hoc multiple comparison procedure, the Scheffe test. The major findings are as follow: (1)There are significant differences in parenting styles in every behaviors. The Authoritative parenting style contribute positively to all five behaviors :Social , Political, Self-directed, environmental and economics; (2)The Authoritative parenting style is the best parenting style that leads to good citizenship in order to the development of the country.
