A TRIAL OF THE MULTI-CULTURAL BASIC ENCOUNTER GROUP IN JAPAN

It is the time at the beginning of the 1970's that Basic Encounter Group (BEG)that Dr. C.R.Rogers suggests and develops was introduced in Japan by Dr.Minoru Hatase.Since then, General BEG, Family BEG, Student or College BEG and so on, has been held in Japan. BEG is concealing the posibility that promotes mutual understandingexceeding the difference of various sense of values. Many Chinese and Korean people are living in Japan, from Japanese historical reason. Also in the recent years, international intercange accompanies to become prosperous and the people of various nationarity also live in Japan. The sufficient mutual understanding and interchange are not done among such people and Japanese. BEG has so many posibilities for deepening the mutual understanding to the both the foreign people living in Japan and Japanese. In this presentation, the author will introduce the BEG trial and the result. The contents will be as follows,(1)Preparation of the multi cultural encounter group in Japan; (2)Progress of IEG (International Encounter Group)in Japan;(3)Characteristics and subject of IEG in Japan.
