Flow is a state of optimal experience extremly enjoyed, what is characterized by focused attention, clear performance goals and feedback, concentration and complete control, the distortion of time, and intrinsic enjoyment (Csikszentmihalyi, 1990; Moneta & Czikszentmihalyi, 1996; Seligman & Czikszentmihalyi, 2000). This study exames the factorial structure of an instrument to measure flow at work in a sample of 790 Spanish employees from diverse occupational sectors. Results using confirmatory factor analysis show that the fit of the 3-factor model (i.e. intrinsic satisfaction, absorption and perceived efficacy) is superior to that of the 1-factor model (i.e. flow) confirming our hypothesis about the multidimensional structure of flow at work.
