An expectancy-value model is composed by expressing environmental concern in terms of anthropocentric and ecocentric motives in the form of a sum-of- products regression equation. The model is represented mathematically as follows: EC = banteant + becoeeco, where EC : measure of environmental concern; bant : strength of belief in relation to anthropocentric motives; eant : evaluation of importance of bant ; beco : strength of belief in relation to ecocentric motives.
