To Members of the
World Forum of International Psychological Associations
Berlin, 17 March 2000
Dear
Colleagues and Friends
The First World Forum was held at the occasion
of the 24th International Congress of Applied Psychology in San
Francisco, August 14, 1998. Some 20 representatives (Presidents / Secretary
Generals / Delegates of International Psychological Associations and major
regional associations) participated in this event which marked a novel
enterprise in the history of the discipline. It was unanimously agreed to have
been a most useful meeting which ought to be repeated at each international
congress.
The forthcoming 27th International
Congress of Psychology in Stockholm, July 23 –28, 2000 offers the first
opportunity to invite your participation at the Second World Forum to be held
on the premises of the Congress on
As soon as the meeting place becomes
known through the offices of the congress organizers we shall let you have the
details. The second World Forum will be co-chaired again by Presidents of IAAP
and IUPsyS respectively. Attached you will find a preliminary agenda and again
the minutes from the First World Forum as well as a list of invited
associations and a draft of the Directory of international / regional
psychology associations.
Very much looking forward again to a
fruitful exchange among leaders of world-wide psychological associations.
Yours sincerely,
Bernhard Wilpert Géry d’Ydewalle
